» Renegade Problems?

An interesting post by Banshee over at PPM discusses some current issues regarding the transfer of online support from WOL to XWIS:
1) It seems* that XWIS software doesn't have appropriate support for NAT, which leaves all of those with a router out of the game.

2) Check Strike Team Forums and you won't see any support for TD, RA1, Dune games and Renegade at all. They don't cover these games yet.
As Banshee goes on to mention, these problems shouldn't be too difficult to fix - but other factors could come into play.

Incidentally, it would appear that some of the editing software used for Renegade has been effected by an annoucement by Autodesk:
"As of October 6, 2005, Autodesk will no longer offer Gmax® software as a stand-alone product. If you are interested in other 3D animation, modeling, and rendering applications from Autodesk please check out Autodesk® 3ds Max® software"
I have little knowledge in this field, so don't quite understand the repercussions of this decision - but it sounds negative for those involved with editing the game.
