Obviously the big question we all wish to know is what new (or returning) units will be featured in RA3. Which new kind unit do you wish to see? If you were given the opporunity to make a new one for RA3, what would it be and what would be its abilites? Which unit do you wish to return from the pervious RA games? And which ones should never come back?

I would like to see a new type of infantry, Generals and Zero Hour gave a bit more boost for infantry usage but I would like it expanded more, maybe actually having them do certain formations, able to react to certain combat situations.

The infantry I would design would be some sort of officer on the field that gives a group of troops new abilties and he would be able to call airstrikes (but a lot better than frecking Boris Angry ). And maybe the ability to take out vechial drivers, not like Jarmel Kell, more like close quater combat.

Of course, the good old stand by untis like the Prism tank, Tesla Tank, Mammoth/Apoc tank of course (or whatever its going to be called this time).

And the unit I could do without in the next game (or that they better improve on if they do) is Boris, he sucked balls big time. Right behind him would be the Kirov, just too damn slow to be useful.

I'd like to see a similiar tech tree to that of RA2 or YR, you know, basic units you can rush with, then more advanced units you can garrison and deploy, and finally the high tech units using Prism technology etc.

the cruiser was so funny...it was so innacurate it was unbeleivable...it never hit! but the splash damage from its shells was massive!

Wat ever happens, i also want the soviets top at least be able to put up a fight later in the game. If your facing a competant allied opponent, NOTHING you can do will be able to effectively stop the mirages, unless your Iraq and are able to do the flak track rush into the tanks thing. And if you build kirovs, he just has to pull back and make IFVs.

Hehe, yes it did, all you have to do is force fire a few cells behind or infront of the actual target. Too bad the AI never made ships or subs Unhappy I remember I made a map with 2 islands, 1 with all the AI players on it and 1 with just me on it with TONS of ore. I used to make somewhere around 50 Mammoths, then put the tanks in transports and unload all of them on the other island. EVERY AI unit would come to the place you unloaded your force to try and kill you. Those battles were so tense it almost crashed my Pentium 60 Tongue

Everything in pre-yuri RA2 should be in RA3 including the country specific units. I would like boris to be back again too.

They just need some balancing...

From what I have played in YR, Boris isnt extremly useful. By the time you can get him, the other player would have a good amount of tanks which can take care of him. Using him in conjunction with tanks doesnt do very much. But I do agree with the whole pre-yuri RA2 thing.

They brought back the cruiser in mental omega. What sucks is that it is still inaccurate, yet the shells dont have massive splash damage. It can only be used against pretty big structures. Conyard, war fac etc.

haha i loved in RA when (i think this was just on the playstation) if you built about 40 heavy tanks..it crashed Grin

Once me and a mate had a link up and turtled like fook.......left it playin as we went for dinner came back and the AI had managed to kill itself!

dudes... chrono legionaires. i seemed to be the only person on WOL who used them for anything other than collecting goodie crates. about 10-15 of them would take care of any turtle.

In one of the few games ive played against a huge turtler, it was 2v2, and my ally just overwhelmed him with rockies followed by me over running him with my army. Had we gone with a bunch of chronos, they wouldve gotten wasted.

Well, im saying that they should still have the typical barracks, naval yard, ect.. they don't have to look exactly the same. They can look totally different. Other units could also be totally diff but they still need to have the same general concept. I just think EA might try to over do it and the final product will be a peace of junk. I think they need those unites to guide them in the correct direction.

I too, would also enjoy having the Cruiser back. It was the funnest unit of RA1. I would like some of the special bonuses (country) bonuses to be purchasable. Nothing better than a couple of Grand Cannons and Demo Trucks. Wink

I also just REALLY pray that EA does not turn the respectable Command and Conquer series into a pile of crap that will be forgotten. Westwood did a great job, hopefully, EA will live up.

bout them demo trucks he he he in RA1 heres a lil trick put a demo truck in a transport (the boat things) then once the boats near shore have it do the force fire thing on a building then when it opens it will expload before it gets out then if u move it fast enough the truck will be in the transport unharmed - he he its hard tho

yea also i hope ea doesnt screw up on it like they probly will

the thing bout RA3 factions is that they should make sides as different as they can, yet as balanced as they can... it is always fun to have sides so different that to play a different side means almost like a different game, all the stratgies r different every counter would be different

Maybe the most important thing about ra3 is that 2 keep te "battle feeling".
Yes, i'd love to see many sofisticated units but not freaky-obsesive-bullshit units (like those from tiberian sun or mastermind from yuri). Come on! we are in 21-th century ... an upgrade to C&C generals units i thing is the best choice... and ofcourse, naval units ... and, it's a must --- the mommoth tank (apocalipse, emperor, whatever) --- it's a simbol

Surely, we mustn't head in the Generals direction again, the game is good on itself, but it's not 'Command & Conquer'.

-No fast gameplay
-Too realistic (by that I mean too close to the real world, as all previous C&C titles play in a 'different' universe)
-No 2D battlefields

It's inevitable RA3 will have 3D battlefields, but I really hope the makers will keep the pace in the game and won't make it a Generals clone.

Where would be the fun in that? People already have a good idea of strategies for the original, so you wouldn't have the same tactical creativity that adds a lot to the newer games.

If you check the tab bar on the side of your little screen under red alert 2 and yuris revenge you'll notice that there is no mention of a flame unit that because it only appeared in the add on's AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUALLY GAME but i'm not gonna turn this thread into an argueing pit. just no.

yeah i agree but not sure about 10 missles lol i would say 4-6 because the aircraft carrier if you shot there planes out of the sky they just fell into your defence still causing damage in the end my mate never used them as planes he used them little micro missles to take out the my sea defence then landed on a beach there and unload a group of prism tanks Angry so yeah more missles for dreadnought or a return for the missle subGrin

Yeah the missile sub was a good solid unit at long range.Happy
