News

Ah, we're getting into these core aspects of your site now. News updates make visitors come back day after day to check out what's going on, so you have to ensure you have the fastest posting going on - and tell the visitors that as well! They might not know that the first site on the entire internet to post about a new map available is yours, so get it across. Oh, and they don't want originality. They want links that get them where they want to go, and nothing more! Never ever make your news interesting or diverse, because people get confused and don't know where to click and end up leaving because they hate you. Here are some examples.

/WORLD EXCLUSIVE: CNCDEN HAS FIVE(5) NEW GENERALS MAPS!/ posted by sup3rc00leagl3 on 26.10.03 @15.35pm
Yes folks, just *seconds* ago, Lion added another five(5) maps for Generals to CNCDen. All of them are awesome and you should download them right now by clicking on this gigantic link just here.
And remember - who told you with such lightning speed? That's right, CNCSuper1337Site, your number one place for news! We're the CNN of the C&C community, without the inaccurate weather reports and annoying presenters.

Let's analyse that post so you can see all the different parts working in harmony.
(1) Block capital headline: Attention grabbing, simple stuff.
(2) Using spelling and figure for numbers: always be considerate for people that might misread a word, and include the figure too.
(3) Very long link: no-one could miss it, could they?

Another important detail is to always include a blockquoted section of any preview, review, war story, article, or announcement in your post, and precede it with the text "Here's a snip:" - it's expected, and despite it being not entirely needed, everyone wants to see it.

Here's an example, substitute the names as necessary.
